In these Coronavirus times, it can be hard to get hold of a webcam now that a lot of people all over the world are home working from there and this guide is for those that don’t want to buy a webcam now that prices are going up.

If you have a stationary PC with no cam opposed to what most laptops have, then why not use your Android Phone as a camera?

I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and will write the guide based on that and a PC with Windows 10.
The first thing you need is DroidCam Wireless Webcam app from the app store. The app is provided as free (that means ads) and Pro that supports high res video and features I personally don’t need. If all you need is a video feed while meeting people online, then the free version is good enough.

The Phone and PC have to be connected to the same network. Your router might have more than one SSID. Make sure that you're connected to the same SSID.

Install Cell phone App

You can get the App from the Google Play Store. Search for DroidCam Wireless Webcam.

Install DroideCam om Phone

Next is to install Windows DroidCam client on your PC

Go to https://www.dev47apps.com/droidcam/windows/ and install the DroidCam Client.

Install Windows Client

Ready to connect DroidCam on cell phone with DroidCam client on PC

Open up the new App on your Phone

Open DroidCam

DroidCam will ask for your permission to use the Phones camera and mic. Click Allow (click Deny and this guide is pointless :-))

IP address DroidCam

On your PC, open the newly installed DroidCam PC client.

Open PC client
DroidCam IP

Type in the IP that is displayed in the DroidCam app on the Cell phone. Make sure the port number is the same as in the app. When done, click Start and your cell phone camera is now transmitting vide feed to the Windows Client.

Use the Cell phone camera in Skype

OK, your camera is in communication with your PC. To use it on Skype you will need to open Skype settings and choose DroidCam as the source.

Skype Settings
Choose DroidCam Source

Select DroidCam as the source and you will instantly see the video feed from the cell phone camera. You can use the cell phone camera in most Windows programs that can use a camera. I have not tested it in Teams but assume it will work just fine there as well.
