Many of you have already experienced problems when checking in a document. It seems that the personal working folders are sometimes inaccessible. In all the cases seen up until now the working folder gets accessible shortly and the check in and check out are successful.
ProArc
In ProArc the problem is presenting by the following message. Please be patient a wait a little bit before attempting to check in the document again.
IFS
In IFS the messages looks like this. The same goes here, please wait a little bit before trying to check in again.
Editing documents while working on pc With Direct Access
This group of users experiences problems with checking in the document and unfortunately also loss of work.
Workaround for the problem when working pc's with Direct Access is as follows.
1) Open the document you want to edit for View, use the View button in IFS.
2) Save the document locally on your disc.
3) When you’re done editing your document and want to check it in, user the Addovation/Check In New Rev button.
If the step 3 fails, you still have all your changes saved locally. Here it also might help wait a little bit before trying to check in the new revision again.
AutoSave function
For documents checked out from ProArc or IFS do not use the AutoSave function. When using AutoSave, the file and all your changes will be saved on OneDrive and this is not your working folder. When checking in the document to IFS, the version of the file from your working folder will be checked in whilst the changes you have done are saved on OneDrive.
If you have used the AutoSave and the file in IFS doesn’t contain your changes after the check in, check the OneDrive for the version of the file you expect to see in IFS.
